Reading in run using the workshop model. Students participate in a mini lesson, then independent reading and onto a rotation activity with guided reading or book clubs. Rotation activities include Fast Forword, reading eggs/eggspress, spelling work as well as practising comprehension strategies.

During independent time students are given time to practise their individual goals and confer with their teacher. Students use sticky notes and their reader's notebooks to track their thinking and in doing so develop a deeper understnading of their books
